Review: Beddy Rays - Wait A While

Rating: 4.5/5 || For lovers of: Hockey Dad & Catfish and the Bottlemen

Four-piece, Brisbane based band Beddy Rays, have gifted us with another feel-good single, ‘Wait A While’. Beddy Rays have been a staple in the Australian music industry over the past few years, with their single ‘Sobercoster’ accumulating over 1 million streams, landing the 57th spot on the Triple J’s Hottest 100 for 2020.

And their latest track ‘Wait A While’ does not pale in comparison. Opening the track with punchy guitar, the track is launched straight away into a head-bopping hit, nothing of surprise from the indie band. Stripping back the verse to highlight raspy and energetic vocals, the track crescendos into the chorus that makes you instantly want to jump up and dance or start a mosh pit. But I’m not the only one loving this track at the moment. ‘Wait A While’ is currently charting 3rd on the Triple J Unearthed Punk chart and has received 4 ½ stars from both Declan Byrne, Tom Forrest and Dave Ruby Howe. It’s astounding that even though the track is under 3 minutes, Beddy Rays have delivered a single packed with skill, instrumental riffs and catchy lyrics that is sure to see success within the Australian market.
